We Are Live shows what digital transformation looks like for events

 

'Aviko Christmas Kitchen' format awarded prestigious Best Events Award

Amsterdam, 28 Nov 2022 - Once a year, the biggest awards in events and live communication are handed out at the international Bea (Best Event Awards) World Experience Festival. This year, programme maker and livestream expert We Are Live won the awards for their work on 'Aviko's Christmas Kitchen'.

In the category 'Digital Transformation', Aviko's Christmas Kitchen won 'Silver'. The judges reviewed in this category how good a physical event was reinvented for a digital experience. "Adding value to existing events through live video is one of the main reasons why we started We Are Live in 2008. This award -the Oscars for the event industry- in this specific category is a crown on our work," said Managing founder and director Marck Feller.

Aviko's Christmas Kitchen

In the run-up to Christmas, tens of thousands of Dutch people were set to cook at home with an innovative live-streaming cooking concept from global brand Aviko. "The concept is that everyone cooks live at home because they ordered what they need in advance, which suddenly made distance an advantage instead of a disadvantage," Feller continued.

The format was developed during the pandemic as an alternative to the already existing physical event. Due to the sixfold increase in the number of participants and the high engagement during the live stream and on social media, the format continued in digital form after the pandemic.

It is not the first award for the concept. Earlier this year, the interactive format already won the People's Choice award for Virtual Events & Experiences at the International Eventex Awards 2022.

BEA World Awards

Since 2006, Bea World Festival –the international festival of events and live communication– has organised the awards. The 35 judges work at leading multinationals in international roles. At the festival, 600 directors of event agencies, event associations and trade media from more than 40 countries came together to celebrate creativity.
